Privacy Policy
This policy describes how MeteAir handles information in the mobile app and on this website.
Who we are
MeteAir is published under the Wisper Studio - MeteAir brand and is operated from France. Contact: support@meteair.com.
No accounts
MeteAir does not offer sign-in, profiles, or cloud sync of favorites. We do not create an account for you. You can use the app without registering.
Location (optional)
If you choose “current location,” the app uses GPS (or equivalent) only to fetch a forecast for where you are. You can refuse permission and still search or save places. Coordinates are sent to weather and geocoding providers so they can return data for that point. We do not sell location. We do not use it for advertising.
What stays on your device
Selected place, favorite locations, language, units (temperature, wind, precipitation, pressure, clock, AQI standard), and a short-lived cached forecast are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave the device except when the app requests a forecast or search for a place you selected.
Network requests
To show weather and maps, the app contacts Open-Meteo (forecast), air-quality / pollen APIs based on Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) data, MapTiler for location search, OpenStreetMap Nominatim as a geocoding fallback, and map tile / overlay sources for the weather map. Those providers receive the coordinates or search query needed to answer the request, plus standard technical data (IP address, user agent) that any HTTPS connection exposes to a server.
Crash reporting (release builds)
In production builds only, MeteAir uses Sentry to record crashes and errors. We do not send personally identifying information by default. For about 10% of ordinary sessions, and for every session that hits an error, Sentry Session Replay may record parts of the in-app screen around the problem. An optional in-app feedback form can send extra detail. We use this to fix bugs, not to advertise. Sentry’s own privacy terms also apply to data they process.
What we do not do in the app
The mobile app does not include an advertising SDK, does not show third-party ads, and does not use tracking pixels or social SDKs. There is no analytics product in the app beyond Sentry in release builds as described above.
Payments
The app is free to download. We do not process payments. If we add paid features later, purchases would go through the App Store or Google Play, and we would update this policy.
This website
This marketing site is static. We do not run a live weather API here. We do not use a website analytics product. Your browser still sends standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to the host.
Pollen coverage
Pollen forecasts are available in Europe during pollen season only.
Children
MeteAir is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can deny location permission and change units or language in Settings. Because most information lives on your device, deleting the app removes local favorites and cache. For Sentry or store-related deletion requests, email support@meteair.com. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold — contact us and we will help within the limits of what we actually store.
